Chais Delachaise, a “wine bistro”, features an eclectic, whimsical look suitable to meet your pre-conceptions of what a wine bar in New Orleans might look like. Their menu is robust the prices are just high enough to make a student feel sophisticated. They’re conveniently located on Maple Street, so the evening can really be taken in any number of directions.

The Hot Tin rooftop bar at the Pontchartrain Hotel stretches the limits of this list in the sense that it’s pretty well-known and not very hard to find at all. It is, however, a great place to catch the skyline. Borders on the pretentious but usually gets away with it.
